Walnut Grove, MO to Dilday Mill, MO – 21mil, 10mph, +1400ft elevation gain
Today was a nearo ( near zero) or rest day. 21 miles and it was 91 degrees at 11am. Ugh.
Today’s post will be “ From my Saddle 2”. Things that go through my head while riding. You may or may not want to know but here we go anyways.
- The American farmer is the heart of this country. We have seen so many hard working men and women tending fields and livestock. Hats off and thank you.
- The Appalachians have churches at least every 2 miles.
- Dead road kill makes me sad- well almost all dead road kill. The snakes. They can just stay dead.
- I wonder how farmers get those round bales into that white wrap stuff so neat and long. Matt Fields???
- This country is insanely beautiful.
- Americans are incredible humans. I am amazed at the number of people who encourage, stop and ask if we need help and more. We have met several through the website posted on the back of our rig too.
- Everyday I encourage you to make someone’s day better. Leave people better than you found them. All it takes is an encouraging word.
- Don’t be afraid to share your testimony. God will do the talking. Let him.
- Missouri is hilly. Didn’t expect so many hills here.
- Jocelynn is the heart and soul of everything I do all day long. Honestly she runs this show. And I couldn’t do it without her. Love her to pieces.
- Kristy Kimball Massey is the brains behind everything I do. She programmed my maps, she updates our website, she guides me on where to stay daily. I couldn’t do this without her. Thank you my friend.
- All of you who pray and cheer and encourage make my day better everyday. Trust me this is a blast but incredibly challenging. I love you all so so much.
- Cheer the headwind, not because it makes you stronger but because it cools you off. Rob Bell
- Armadillos really are an odd creature. They shouldn’t cross the road because they are not very successful. AND. As I see their squished hard bodies I wonder how there are so many. How on earth do those things reproduce??? 😂
- This ride is way bigger than me. It simply can only be explained as “bonus miles” from God.
Never EVER Give Up! Thanks honey for my bracelet. Bill Walters. The best hubby in the world.
