10 Days and counting! Stuff, Stuff and more Stuff packed

I am packed and ready to head to IN! It’s been a long year and a half of prep that both Donita and I put into this little adventure of ours. It finally is becoming a reality. My time in IN will be short and sweet as I will see my parents and other family members. Kelly and I will then pack the car with the rest of the supplies that we are grabbing from Donita as well as all her bike equipment. We should be hitting the road around the 22nd. Kelly and I will be stopping at the Badlands and Rushmore in SD, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in WY, Salt Lake City, UT, and then on to San Francisco, CA! Lawdy, I can’t wait! Here is a look at all the stuff I am taking… I know, it is a lot of stuff! Got to be ready for cold weather through the mountains. I will ship stuff home if I don’t use it. Why bring Panniers and a rack pack if you have a SAG driver? Good question! Kelly is with us until she decides to come home. So we don’t know if it will be a few weeks with us or a month or the whole time. We need to be prepared if she decides to head home before we are finished… thus the panniers, tent, air mattress, and stuff we have planned to carry with us without the help of a driver. We are so grateful for any time she will be with us on our journey. We, however, will not be having all this on our bikes when she is with us. It will be in the car! Yay!!

Saying good-bye to the fam is never something I will get used to. I don’t think I will get to see them again until I am done with this little adventure of mine. Ugh, and my precious Dixiedog, she is a 14 year old sweet girl who is struggling a bit lately. My heart aches leaving her knowing this might be my last good-bye. Love them all so much! It will only make me pedal faster to get home. Sad morning of good-byes for this momma…
